The Landwehr was one of the guest bands at the 16th edition of the Cantonal Music Festival of the Canton of St. Gallen, held in Mels on 15 and 16 June. The festival brought together 82 music societies and 3,500 musicians.
On this occasion, it competed in the Harmonie Excellence category, performing the choice piece Wine-dark Sea by John Mackey and the compulsory piece Chasing light by Harrie Janssen.
With a total of 98 points for the choice piece and 95 points (out of 100) for the compulsory piece, Landwehr came first in its category, followed by Feldmusik Jona and Stadtmusik St.Gallen.
Performing Henry Fillmore’s Men of Ohio, the Landwehr also took part in the marching competition, finishing in second place behind the Universal Brass Band Wil with a total score of 91.67.
